Edmonton Realtors need to abide by the RECA guidelines for property listings. One of those things is having accurate measurements of the house or condo being sold. Alberta RMS is a great standard for ensuring your property gets listed correctly. Trident Photography uses the iGuide LiDAR system to achieve extremely accurate results. With the Alberta RMS guideline being less than 2% variance, the iGuide measures to less than 1/2 of a percent variance.
To demonstrate this accuracy in residential real estate measurement, there is a house I happened to scan 2X, (the listing underwent some facelifts, so they wanted a new virtual tour to show the changes) so both measurements were independent.
The first time we measured it the listing came in at 2965sq ft. The second time it was measured it came in at 2964sq ft. That’s .0003 diference, or 0.03% well under the 2% allotment for accuracy.
